Spicy Wontons | Recipe
Spice, spice baby muthafuckas.
Get your nose to run a little with this recipe, or swap out that workout for some spicy sweats. You do you, boo.
WONTON FILLING:
1 pound lean chicken
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp white pepper
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 egg
2 tbsp chopped cilantro
1 tbsp shao xing cooking wine (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1 pack dumpling wrappers (Square-shaped wrappers used for this particular style)
SPICY SAUCE:
1 tbsp spicy bean paste
1.5 tbsp chili oil
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp black rice vinegar
pinch of white pepper
Create the filling: Blend all wonton filling ingredients together.
Folding each wonton: Place a scoop (about 1 tbsp) of filling in the wrapper and add a piece of shrimp in. Next, wet the inner edges of the wrapper with water and bring the corner to the opposite side to form a triangle and crease. Wet the corner of one of the triangle points and fold it over, then do the same with the opposite point.
In a pot, get your water up to a rolling boil. Drop each wonton in individually (so that they don't stick together) and boil for 5-6 minutes. The wrappers should be translucent at the edges, but not breaking apart.
Get saucy. Mix all the sauce ingredients together, give it a good stir and top with chopped scallions.
Serve an enjoy, maybe grab a tissue in case you get the spicy sweats ;)
x,
